Day 7 - Versailles!

I have always wanted to see Versailles every since my sophomore year in High school I saw a picture of the Hall of Mirrors in my history book and wanted to go. Abovoe is a map of the city sound the area. It’s very hard to see but the green area with the blue cross is pare of the gardens and the area to the right of the "cross" is the palace the yellow is the city that has developed around Versailles. It is very very large!

Above is one of the smaller streets of the town of Versailles. It’s a very calm area (at least it was when I was there. :)

Before reaching the palace of Versailles I went to a cafe! It was very good here is a picture of the best coffee that I have had yet, while in France. It was strong and YUMMY!!! It was expensive too over 3 euros!
The first view of the Palace. The highest building is the royal chapel.

I took 130+ photos on this day, I will only include a few of them :)

This is the Hall of Mirrors :)

Outside the Dauphin's apartments, and the line waiting to get in... The word Dauphin is a word for the next in line to the throne. Much like the title Prince of Wales is in England.

Here are some pictures of a staircase next to the Dauphin’s apartments

Inside the Dauphin's apartments. Complete with small library that was changed out once a week because he read so much, and with his drawing room. His bed room was in greed to encourage sleep. While his wife’s room "The Dauphine" was in red.

Random pictures of the outside of the Palace. There were many wings and apartments for various nobilities the cam to visit and live at Versailles.

Inside the Royal Chapel....

An amazing find was the Hebrew letters above. I don’t know what they say but it was surprising to find Hebrew letters in a catholic church.

So what your saying is....there are less lattes out there for more money. Starbucks isn't as bad as we all think huh? Very interesting. That bit of information right there has got to be worth the whole entire trip. HAH!

Hey Jaçon,

I've decided that this is the "rightful" spelling of your name. lol. I was just looking at the picture of your coffee and I saw the wrapper. I thought the wrapper said sugar and that didn't really phase me. It wasn't until I read it and saw that it said sucre that I thought it was cool. Well, there is nothing really cool about a sugar wrapper, just the fact that I can read it! :)
